Midsummer Scream Halloween Convention

Midsummer Scream Halloween Convention

Halloween in July arrives to Long Beach

Midsummer Scream Halloween ConventionThis weekend Halloween fans from all corners of the earth will transcend reality and enter the world of horror and fright. Midsummer Scream Halloween Convention returns for it’s second year with expanded haunted attraction space, more vendors and plenty of panels and workshops.  In a double header, the Queen Mary Dark Harbor team is also producing an evening costume ball aboard the ship called “Sinister Circus”.  With such a close proximity between the two events and the haunted history of the Queen Mary, this is an extraordinary weekend for those attracted to the Macabre.

The Midsummer Scream Halloween Convention Panels are back with all the major players participating, Knott’s Scary Farm; Queen Mary Dark Harbor; Six Flags Fright Fest and Universal Halloween Horror Nights all plan to reveal details about this years attractions. Fandom is strong for these attractions and is sure to bring screams of joy from the crowd. Celebrity sighting are expected from Elvira,  Kane Hodder (Friday the 13th Actor / Jason), Tony Moran (Halloween actor / Micheal Meyers 78) , Sid Haig (House 1000 Corpses actor) and others. But conventions are more than fandom and panels, home haunters will have the chance to get tips on tombstone creation, costume design, lighting, sound and control for haunted effects just to name a few.

Earlier this year Disney closed a well beloved attraction, probably second to only the Haunted Mansion, The Tower of Terror was the second creepiest ride in the Disney parks and is already missed by many. You might not know the name, yet, but Cory Sewelson is the man behind the vision that Tower of Terror attraction became.  Art director and producer, Cory’s vision for the attraction clearly was admired by fans as an E ticket ride.  Midsummer Scream will have Cory on a panel to share his memories creating the attraction, sure to be a rewarding hour of story telling and a great way to say goodbye to Tower of Terror.

Midsummer scream tickets  are still on sale but if you want to do this thing like it should be done,  we recommend staying aboard the Haunted Queen Mary and dressing up for the Sinister Circus costume ball!
